ADVANCED CARE PARAMEDIC – GRADUATE CERTIFICATE (APPD)
Ontario College Graduate Certificate (2 semesters)
Description
This graduate certificate program provides Primary Care Paramedic graduates with advanced training in assessments and treatments, including advanced airway and cardiac treatments and additional instruction in pharmacology.
Employment Opportunities
The need for Advanced Care Paramedics is due to the aging population, increased coverage of health care plans and new technological advancements.
Students may find employment with:
– Municipal and regional Emergency Medical Services
– Pre-hospital care providers (such as ORNGE)
– Base hospitals
– Private industry (mining companies and others)
Limited Enrolment
– 12 seats
Please note that possession of the requirements specified does not guarantee admission. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places in the program, the College reserves the right to select from among those applicants. Admission Requirements
– Two-year CMA Accredited Primary Care Paramedic Diploma or equivalent
– Current advanced Emergency Medical Care Attendance (A-EMCA) license or equivalent
Additional Requirements
– Students must successfully complete an entrance exam (pass 70%) in order to be considered for acceptance.
– Criminal record check (vulnerable sector screening)
– CPR/first aid
– Class F license
– Current immunization status
Tuition Fee (Canadian Students)
The tuition fee for the 2013-2014 academic year is $12,971.00. Next year’s tuition fees will be available May 1, 2014.
